The sessions will cover the following topics:
1. March 7th- This session will cover the use of the various materials and tools, from the pencils themselves, to the kneaded erasure, to paper blending stubs, and transfer paper. This will be a busy period, and much will be covered. It will prepare you for the following sessions in which you will begin the process of producing finished drawings.
2. March 14th – This session will be a quick review of what you were taught in the first session, followed by the start of your first drawing. There will be a demonstration by the instructor that will move at a pace that will allow you to follow along with your own sketch. By the end of this session you will have a properly sized sketch, laid out on tracing paper, and ready to be transferred to your first serious drawing.
3. March 21st – This is where the “Pencil Hits the Paper”. You will now transfer the sketch that you did last week to a sheet of 140#, cold-pressed watercolor paper, and begin to put to use all of the neat things that you learned during the first two sessions. Your instructor, will give each of you individual time, and help you to resolve any issues that might come up with your drawing. By the end of this session you will be seeing a professional looking drawing that you have created all by yourself. You should now be finished, or at least be in a position to complete your drawing at home before the next session.
4. March 28th – This session will require you to do a bit of prep work before class. The instructor will ask you to select a photograph of a subject that you would like to draw, and using the knowledge you already have, come to the session with a sketch of your subject, (on tracing paper) that is ready to transfer to a sheet of 140# watercolor paper. At the beginning of the session the instructor will review your sketch with you, help you with any questions or issues you might have, and then ask you to transfer it to the paper, and have you begin the drawing. Help will be given throughout the session if you need it, and by the end of the session you should have a finished drawing that was designed and drawn by you.
Prepare to be proud of yourself!!!!!
