Wolf Armature 1/17/2017

I thought some of you would like to see what the armature that the wolves are sculpted on looks like.

This is the armature for the fourth wolf. It made out of a heavy gauge aluminum wire and covered in expandable foam insulation. The foam is in an aerosol can and when it is released doubles its’ size. As it cures it becomes very hard and will support the clay. (It is sticky when it is first out of the can so if you’re going to use this wear gloves.)

When I get the clay sculpted onto the armature at least two of the leg wires will be embedded into the wooden base for support.
