Hi Folks,
I’ve been experimenting with insulation foam and two-part epoxy with the intent of filling in the rotten center of tree. It appears to be going well, but it will be a week or so to see if the materials will hold up to the weather.
This is the way the bears looked back on St. Patty’s Day. You can see the rotten areas on and between the faces of Papa Bear and Mama Bear. I decided to name the bears so I can point out where I’m working from now on.
This is the same area as it is on May/12/2018.
The yellow colored stuff is the insulation foam that was applied, then carved to form Papa Bear’s chest, and Mama Bear’s cheek and body. The pink material on Mama and Papa Bear’s cheeks is the two-part epoxy that has been applied over the foam and partially shaped.
